A small temple keeps few secrets.

The short version

YUBAO was built to be a quiet place, not a data collector. You do not need an account to use it. We keep only what makes the temple work — your recent questions (so the oracle remembers you), a daily counter, brief operation logs, and anything you choose to send us. We do not sell, rent or trade any of it.

The browser extension

The YUBAO Chrome extension does one thing: it sends the question you type into its popup to yubao.life, and shows you the reading that comes back — the same service as this website. It does not read, collect or transmit the pages you visit, your tabs, your browsing history or any other website content, and it never injects anything into a page.

It stores one anonymous random id in your own browser (extension storage) so your daily allowance and continuity work, exactly as the website does with its anonymous visitor id. Your question is handled the same way as a question typed here, and nothing is ever used for advertising or sold.

What we collect

• Face reading — your photo never leaves your device. In the beauty mark reader (痣相) everything happens inside your browser: the photo is never uploaded, and it is gone the moment you close the page. No image and nothing about your face is ever stored.
• Palm reading — one photo, only with your consent. The palm reader needs our AI to read the lines, so if you tick the consent box, one photo of your palm is sent to our AI scribe (DeepSeek) for that reading only, and is not stored by us.
• Your anonymous history, for continuity. When you ask the oracle, we store your question and the reading under an anonymous visitor id, keeping roughly your last six exchanges so follow-up questions feel like a real conversation. It is not linked to your identity and is never used to build profiles.
• Your question text, sent once for a reading. To compose a written reading, your question and the casting time are sent to our AI scribe (DeepSeek, a third party). It is used solely to write that reading.
• Daily counters. We remember how many free casts an anonymous visitor used today so the free allowance works.
• Brief operation logs. Each cast logs the time, category, whether it succeeded and how long it took, so we can see how the oracle is doing. Recent questions appear in the keeper’s private dashboard.
• “Find what you lost” — the cast is kept, you are not. When you use the finder, we save that casting — what was lost, where it was last seen, the hexagram and the reading — so we can improve it and, with anything identifying removed, show how it works. It is stored without your name, email or visitor id, and is never sold. Prefer not to keep it? Write to us and we will delete it.
• Messages you send us. If you use the suggestion box, we keep your message and the optional email you include, so the keeper can reply.
• Your consent choice. Whether you accepted this policy is remembered in your own browser (local storage) so we do not ask twice.
• Standard hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps routine technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, as any web host does.

Cookies & trackers

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or social media pixels. There is nothing to opt out of — the consent banner you see exists because we prefer to be transparent rather than clever.

If you subscribe (future)

When YUBAO introduces subscriptions, we will collect only what the service needs: an email address and payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. We will update this page before any of that begins, and you will be asked for fresh consent.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the CCPA you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and withdraw any consent. Write to privacy@yubao.app and we will answer — since we hold so little, the answer is usually quick.

A note on the readings

YUBAO presents the oracle of 周易 and classical BaZi as cultural heritage and entertainment — a mirror for reflection, not medical, legal, psychological or financial advice. Treat every reading the way you would a poem about the weather: enjoy it, keep what helps, leave the rest.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will tell you before it affects you — never silently after.
